Barrios AI, LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Barrios AI website (the "Service").
This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of
personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

Personal Data: Name and email address obtained from third-party authentication providers (e.g., Google, GitHub) for account creation and purchases.
Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect information on site performance and sales tracking, which may include anonymized data like IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.
Cookies: We use cookies solely for authentication purposes. These are stored for 14 days and are essential for maintaining your session.
Email Signups: If you join one of our notification lists, we collect your email address and the topic you signed up for (e.g., book releases or certification) so we can send you relevant updates. If you are signed in and click a notify button, we use the email address already associated with your account (from your authentication provider) rather than asking you to enter it again.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Service, including user authentication and processing purchases via Stripe.
To communicate with you, such as sending purchase confirmations or service updates.
To send you announcements about new book releases and certification, but only if you opt in by joining a notification list (either by entering your email or, when signed in, by clicking notify so we can use your account email). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails or by emailing support@barrios.ai.
To analyze site usage and improve performance via Google Analytics.
In the event of service discontinuation, to provide access to purchased books via GitHub links sent to your registered email.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in the United States on secure servers using MongoDB and AWS services. We implement
industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption, Content Security Policy (CSP) headers,
secure session management with HTTP-only cookies, and access controls. However, no method of transmission
over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not store payment information; all transactions are handled securely by Stripe.
We may share data with third-party services like Google Analytics (anonymized) and authentication providers.
Email signups — including opt-ins that use your account email when you are signed in — are processed and stored by Formspree, our form and notification provider. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal data. Data may be disclosed if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your data ("right to be forgotten"). To exercise
these rights, email support@barrios.ai. We will respond within 30 days. Note: Deleting your data may
limit access to purchased content.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not have age restrictions as the content is educational and safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.

7. International Users

We serve users globally, but all data is processed in the US under US laws. By using the Service, you consent to data transfer to the US.
